Tara L. Stevens, 25 years old, sister to Dhonna Goodale, and beloved mother of 2 beautiful children, was shot to death by her husband, Daniel Nash, back in September 2003.

Tara was finishing college to obtain her Nursing Degree.  She had hoped to be able to do more for her children by getting better employment.  Instead, her life was cut short by an abusive husband, who was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 25 to life in jail.

Anyone who knew Tara said that she was a wonderful person, full of love and affection, and a caring mother, who nevertheless, made a bad choice that serves as a lesson to us all.  Her death was a shock to all those who knew her.

The lesson is: If someone abuses you once, believe that
it will happen again.  No matter what the circumstances, you must love yourself first.  You must leave the abuser, realize your self worth, and start life again.  There are many organizations that will help.  Always remember that you deserve the best, because you  are worth it.

This memorial to Tara is a way of helping to bring life to others by offering scholarships to students who want to pursue an education and don't have the means to make this possible.

Your generosity has been the key element in all of this, and  students have benefited tremendously since the fund raiser started almost 5 years ago.

Thank you so much and God bless you as you help to keep this tradition and her memory alive.
